These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of OldTextBooks.com and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts in India to use the Service. Users under 18 must use the Service with parental consent.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and update it as needed.
3. Listings
- Only genuine, second-hand academic textbooks may be listed.
- Photos must be your own and must accurately show the book's condition.
- Prices are auto-suggested at 25% of MRP; you may adjust within a reasonable range.
- We may reject or remove listings that violate these Terms or applicable law.
4. Prohibited content
Do not list pirated books, photocopies, solved answer keys sold illegally, or any content that infringes copyright or applicable law. Do not upload offensive, misleading or defamatory content.
5. Orders and payments
Buyers pay via approved Indian payment methods at checkout. OldTextBooks acts as a facilitator between buyers and sellers. Sellers receive their earnings in the OldTextBooks wallet after the order is confirmed as delivered. Withdrawals are processed to the seller's UPI ID.
6. Fees
We may charge a marketplace fee on each successful sale. Fees, if any, are shown clearly before you list or checkout.
7. Refunds and returns
See our Refund Policy for full details. Buyers may raise a return within 48 hours of delivery if a book is materially different from the listing.
8. Shipping
See our Shipping Policy. Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary by location and courier.
9. User conduct
Do not misuse the Service, attempt to breach security, scrape data, or harass other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Intellectual property
All OldTextBooks branding, code and design are owned by us. You retain rights to the photos and text you upload but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display them for the purpose of operating the Service.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that listings will sell, that prices are the lowest available, or that delivery will be uninterrupted.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount paid by you in the 6 months preceding the claim, or ₹5,000, whichever is greater.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in the jurisdiction of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
